As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I have experience working with many populations including children, adolescents, adults & seniors. I have an art background that has provided me with the ability to have creative interventions as well as traditional interventions in my group or individual work. I am currently a part of a group practice who believe in working to provide mental health services in a safe and comfortable environment for individual support, as well as couples and family therapy for a wide range of issues.
I have always been interested in people, and how different we can all be, and how much we have in common without realizing it. I feel deeply that mental health is so connected to our overall health and well being. I think everyone should try therapy because you learn about yourself in ways that you were previously unaware, it offers support but also learning about what makes us tick, gives us strength. Finding out what makes us vulnerable and embracing that, is power. My path was a funny one, I started as a visual artist, got a scholarship to go to school for it. My art was and has always been emotionally driven, it is an outlet and a coping mechanism. That driving force led me to become interested in art therapy, and every psychology class i took, i was enthralled in. So, a minor in psychology, become a double major, and then I continued to develop my love for psychology into a career path during grad school. I have a 101 hobbies and interests, I place a high value on personal growth and development as well as bringing a sense of balance to life and that is what I try to bring to my practice of therapy.
